Powerco's sustainability recognised in international benchmarking survey

Tuesday, October 08, 2024
For the second year in a row Powerco has achieved a top score of 100 in the GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) survey - the international measure of sustainability across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) measures.

Jemma Gerring, Powerco General Manager Corporate Services, says Powerco should be very proud of its consistent efforts to improve sustainability and again place first in its peer group. She says it is also heartening to see performance across participants lifting year on year.

“The survey requirements change each year, so our score is a good way to track how we are keeping up with the rapidly evolving area of sustainability and to provide reassurance to our stakeholders around our sustainability focus,” she says.

The survey results reflect Powerco’s commitment to sustainability and operational excellence and follows the release of the businesses first Climate Adaption and Resilience plan, Climate Disclosures Report and Integrated Report.

GRESB is an international survey that sets a global standard for environmental, social and governance benchmarking. Despite the reference to real estate in its name, the GRESB survey includes wider infrastructure. Powerco’s survey is submitted under the infrastructure section alongside 720 other organisations from 81 countries.

Since 2016, Powerco has annually submitted environmental, social and governance information and data for assessment (with the exception of 2020, due to COVID priorities).
