Jordan Jones - Community Relationships Advisor

Jordan Jones

The best thing about Powerco is the focus on people and company culture says new Community Advisor Jordan Jones. In particular, he likes the way mindset, positivity, and how you think are valued.

Some of these attributes are no doubt what’s led to his latest move to the Customer Team to work as a Community Advisor after 15 months as a Network Performance Analyst and a year prior to that as a Switching Coordinator.

In his new role he’s focused on establishing community emergency hubs in areas that are vulnerable to weather events. His new colleagues are excited to have someone with a technical background in the team and he’s excited to be working in the community.

Jordan trained as an electrician and joined Powerco from Fonterra in 2022. Initially he liked the way he could use his practical skills and knowledge and apply them in a more family-friendly, office-based role, and with his new job he’s taking that a step further and can apply his knowledge to solutions to benefit the community.

Growing up in Africa and the Middle East, Jordan has had a lifetime of adapting and slotting into new environments. The son of music teachers, Jordan was born in Kenya and has called both Africa and Oman home over the years. Now happily settled in Taranaki with three sons, Jordan draws on his world experiences to connect to others and uses it as a source of inspiration for songwriting. His band The Mara, turns the blending of world music and different musical genres into their point of difference.

This melting pot of skills, talents and world view make Jordan an interesting colleague and someone easy to relate to, handy for someone focused on building strong community connections.
