Inglewood south upgrade
We’re upgrading the overhead lines that run between the Inglewood substation on Lower Dudley Road and the Motukawa substation on Motukawa Road to ensure customers continue to receive safe and reliable power.
The project involves replacing equipment and performing routine maintenance. This includes:
-
Replacing nine wooden power poles
-
Replacing 462 hardwood crossarms
-
Replacing 11 transformers
-
Adding bird spikes to cross arms to help prevent faults caused by bird.
The project is scheduled to take place between November 2024 and March 2025.
The work will be carried out by our contractor Northpower.
Traffic management
Traffic management will be in place on Lower Dudley, Tarata and Kotete roads for periods of time between November 2024 and March 2025 to help keep people safe as works take place in the road reserve.
Power outages
The power will remain on for the majority of the project, however some planned power outages will be needed to keep our contractors safe as they carry out this essential work. Affected customers will receive information from their electricity retailer (the company they pay their power bill to) of any planned outages. People can also check for planned outages here nearer the time.
