Eltham gas main renewal

We’re replacing gas mains in Eltham, South Taranaki, from late May 2024 to ensure the gas supply continues to remain safe and reliable for customers.

The work, which will largely take place within the road verge and footpath using underground boring, is expected to take about four months, beginning on North St/SH3, before turning into London St, and continuing along to Bedford St and then Bridge St (please see map below).

We’re working with KiwiRail to enable the gas piping to be carried out under the railway line in London St.

The work will be carried out by our contractoring crew from Te Aratika Infrastructure.

Customers will be notified through their gas retailer (the company they pay their energy bill to) if their supply is affected during the work.

Traffic management may be required at times.
