Kāinga Whakatipu
Kāinga Whakatipu is a Healthy Homes Initiative that supports whānau in the MidCentral region to make their homes warm, dry, and safe for their children. Our aim is to prevent housing related illnesses by empowering whānau with knowledge about how to create a healthy home and providing practical interventions and resources.

The partnership with Powerco provides whānau with additional tools (Scoopys and Hygrometers) to manage moisture and create a healthier home. Using a Scoopy (as shown in the pictures), is an easy, effective and mess free way to remove window condensation and moisture from walls and showers. The moisture is captured within the handle so it is a great alternative to wiping with cloths/towels and creating more laundry. Hygrometers support whānau to measure moisture levels in rooms and visibly see the difference in humidity levels as they implement changes within the home.
