Our community partnerships

wildbase
Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery
Replant for tomorrow

We value protecting endangered wildlife, including teaching children about conservation and how they can make a real difference to the world around them. That’s why we support the Wildbase Recovery Centre as naming-rights sponsor of the Powerco Education Centre.

Replant for Tomorrow is a Powerco initiative, in partnership with Asplundh and Wild for Taranaki, to redress the vegetation loss and help restore Taranaki’s biodiversity.

EnergyMate
Women in Engineering

We know staying warm in winter can hit families hard in the pocket. So we’ve partnered with the Electricity Retailers Association of New Zealand to deliver EnergyMate to Hawera. This free in-home service, provided by the Hawera Budget Advisory Service, helps families manage their energy needs so they stay cosy all winter long.

By supporting the Women in Engineering Network (WEN) at the University of Auckland, we’re helping inspire and empower women to achieve their engineering aspirations. WEN is committed to increasing the number of women enrolled in engineering, with the long-term goal of achieving gender equality.

Thames Food and Buskers Festival
Powerco Lights Up the Night

We’re supporting the Thames Business Association to bring this exciting, new festival to Thames. This free community event features gourmet food stalls, live music and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

We love a good, free family event. So we’ve got behind two iconic New Plymouth events – Christmas at the Bowl and the TSB Festival of Lights.

Powerco in the community

We deliver electricity to more than 336,000 households across New Zealand. From remote rural towns, to beachside settlements and small cities, we’re proud to be a part of the communities we operate in.  That’s why we actively support a range of events and organisations throughout our network.

We’re currently not seeking new community partnerships, however, if you feel you have a truly exceptional opportunity for us, please send your details to sponsorship@powerco.co.nz

Our sponsorships need to:

  • Be located within our network footprint
  • Benefit the community
  • Allow us to engage with our customers
  • Can allow our staff to be involved

Sorry, we can’t sponsor:

  • Individuals
  • Hobby or personal interest groups
  • Religious, political, or high-risk events or activities.

Proposals will be reviewed, and a representative from Powerco will be in contact within four weeks to advise if your request will be progressed further.
