Our story

We keep the energy flowing to more than 900,000 people across the North Island of Aotearoa New Zealand. As the country’s largest dual-energy distributor by network length, we own and operate over 28,000km of electricity lines and over 6,000km of gas pipes.

From urban and rural homes and businesses to large-scale industrial and commercial operations, we’re driven by our purpose of connecting communities to energy that’s safe, reliable, and resilient now and into the future.

Our mahi focuses on preparing our networks for change and enabling the aspirations for a net-zero Aotearoa. That means working to ensure our move to a low-emissions future is secure, affordable and environmentally conscious, and helps Kiwis thrive along the way.

Our diverse 500 plus-strong team is guided by Ngā Tikanga – Our Way, which incorporates our values and ways of working with each other, our stakeholders and industry peers to get the best outcomes for our customers.
